Women's Programs
Women are distinctly created as equals to men in importance. At the same time, women have equally important roles that are distinct from the principle roles of men. Women are called to be stewards of health, and female physiology is designed to produce the principle role of servant nurturers. This role will take on different forms based on the individual and the stage of life. Fulfilling this role becomes more difficult, if not impossible, in the face of altered physiology. Whether it be the stress of work, being a mom, wife, student, or grandmother, there are numerous factors that have negative impacts on female health.
Many women intuitively know right away when something is changing in their body. This should not be a surprise as women during their reproductive years deal with significant monthly changes in hormone levels and their effect on other physiologic systems. Sadly, most doctors discount a woman's intuitive knowledge and replace it with a statistical definition of what is "normal".
In general, men tend to ignore, minimize, and deny symptoms that on presentation to the doctor are readily accepted. On the other hand, women tend to know exactly what has changed in their body, but they have a hard time convincing the doctor that this change isn't normal for them.
Where men typically have a hard time admitting to symptoms until significant disease develops, women have a hard time convincing medical professionals that the subtle changes they are reporting are real until significant disease develops. Regardless, this broken system leads to initiation of treatment only after significant disease develops.
At Everything Well, our approach is much different. Listed below are some of the symptoms associated with altered female physiology that we not only recognize, but also help treat.
ZEAL FOR LIFE
A decreased desire and vigor for work, learning, and marital sex.
WORK PERFORMANCE
A loss in mental sharpness and memory, recollection, creativity, innovation, and the ability to make decisions.
EMOTIONAL
Unexplained sadness, anxieties, and fears, a tendency for larger and more frequent emotional highs and lows, anger, rage and a "short fuse".
PHYSICAL
Fatigue, loss of strength and muscle mass, weight gain and expanding hip measurements, fluid retention, inability to lose weight, alterations in menstrual cycle, breast tenderness, skin changes, increase in migraines and headaches, change in sleep patterns and sleep quality, hot flashes, night sweats, decreased exercise tolerance, decreased benefit from exercise, more muscle and joint soreness after physical activity, and decreased sexual performance
The principle solution offered to women for years was the use of Premarin, a form of equine estrogen, which later was combined with Progestin, a synthetic form of progesterone. Studies have now shown risks with the extended use of these medications, yet they remain on the market with millions of prescriptions still being written for the lower dose forms.
Other forms of treatment place their emphasis on anti-aging and external image. Aging is a normal and natural physiologic process rather than a disease to avoid. Anti-aging mindsets frequently lead to anti-normal and anti-natural solutions. Treatments that emphasize external solutions frequently are only skin deep and do little to address the internal physiologic problems.
EVALUATION:
At Everything Well we take a balanced approach to female health that is rooted in optimizing rather than altering normal age specific physiology. The evaluation process begins with a detailed history. A phone consultation is scheduled where our intake specialists working in coordination with our board certified Medical Doctors determine the specific testing needed for evaluating your specific physiologic systems. The core evaluation components are listed below.
Additionally we have included a listing of our extended physiologic testing. You can request that any of these tests be added to your evaluation. Should your presentation warrant, the doctor may also recommend additional testing for you to consider.

TREATMENT:
Our treatment protocols center around you. At the time of your initial consultation, we design your individual plan to restore and maintain your health.
We take a natural approach to treatment, utilizing the latest in bio-identical medications (identical compounds to those produced in the human body), pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements, nutrition, weight management & exercise plans, lifestyle modification, education and training, interval consults, and pharmaceutical agents when necessary.
Follow up consultations are initially arranged at three month intervals and expanded to every 6 months as your wellness plan takes root. These visits may also involve follow up lab testing to assess how you are progressing. These visits may be completed via phone conference at your request.
Comprehensive exams are completed yearly. Due to the nature of these visits, these must be completed at an Everything Well office.
